Small Business

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO) is committed to maximizing procurement opportunities for small businesses throughout Lea and Eddy counties of New Mexico and surrounding communities.

Our goal is to provide meaningful work for the small business community in significant and purposeful aspects of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) mission.

We believe that small business participation supports project goals, and positively impacts local and regional communities. It also provides a foundation for growth and expansion of service providers to support the U.S. Department of Energy’s nuclear cleanup mission.

Our subcontracting approach extends to small businesses including veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB), service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB), historically underutilized business zone small businesses (HUB Zone), small, disadvantaged businesses (SDB) (including non-Alaskan Native Corporations [NC] and Indian tribes), women-owned small businesses (WOSB), and Ability One participating businesses.

SIMCO will ensure that small businesses, VOSB, SDVOSB, HUB Zone, SDB, WOSB, and Ability One businesses have an equitable opportunity to compete for and secure subcontracts. Our aim is to provide information and assistance to socioeconomic business categories and individuals who may be interested in doing business with SIMCO.
